Privacy Policy

BlurShare processes selected images on your device. BlurShare does not upload your images to a BlurShare server and does not use them for advertising, analytics, or AI training.

Who is responsible for BlurShare?

Images you choose

BlurShare accesses an image only when you open it in the app or send it to BlurShare through Android's share menu. The app processes the image locally to suggest sensitive areas and apply blurs chosen by you.

Very large images are downscaled to approximately 6 megapixels before editing and export to keep processing reliable. BlurShare exports the edited result as a new PNG image, which means the source image's EXIF metadata is not copied into the exported file.

Automatic detection and your review

Automatic detection is an aid and is not guaranteed to identify every sensitive item. It can miss, misidentify, or incorrectly classify sensitive information in any image. You are responsible for reviewing the entire edited image and adding or adjusting blurs before sharing. To the extent permitted by applicable law, BlurShare and its developer are not responsible for sensitive information that remains visible because it was not detected or was incorrectly detected.

Sharing and temporary exports

When you choose to share an edited image, BlurShare creates a temporary PNG file in the app's private cache and gives the receiving app temporary read access. The image is shared only with the app or destination that you select in Android's share menu.

Temporary exports may be replaced by later exports or removed automatically by Android. BlurShare does not control how a receiving app handles an image after you choose to share it.

Information stored on your device

BlurShare stores a limited amount of information locally on your device:

• Your detection, blur, interface, and warning preferences.
• Whether you acknowledged the first-run review reminder.
• The number of free photo exports used in the current month.
• Whether BlurShare Unlimited has been recognized as purchased.
• Temporary editor-recovery data, such as selected-image references, blur geometry, and undo history, while an editing session is active. Source-image pixels are not copied into this recovery data.

Editor-recovery data is kept in the app's private cache. It is deleted when the editing session ends, may be removed automatically by Android, and orphaned recovery files are removed by BlurShare after 24 hours. This information is not backed up by BlurShare. All locally stored information is removed when you clear the app's data or uninstall the app.

Purchases and Google Play

If you choose to purchase BlurShare Unlimited, the transaction is processed by Google Play. BlurShare queries Google Play to display the price and verify the purchase. BlurShare does not receive or store your payment card details. Google's handling of purchase information is governed by the Google Privacy Policy.

Data collection, advertising, and analytics

BlurShare does not operate user accounts, advertising, tracking, app-owned analytics, or a cloud service for image processing. The BlurShare developer does not collect or sell personal information through the app.

BlurShare uses Google ML Kit for on-device face, text, and QR-code detection. Google states that image and text inputs and detection results remain on the device. The ML Kit SDK may send Google limited device and app information, a per-installation identifier, and API performance and utilization metrics over HTTPS for diagnostics and usage analytics. Security

BlurShare limits image access to files selected by you and uses Android's protected app storage and temporary file-sharing mechanisms. Because no method of processing or storage is entirely risk-free, you should always review the edited image before sharing it.

Children's privacy

BlurShare is a general-audience utility and is not directed specifically at children. The app does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated when BlurShare's features or data practices change. The effective date at the top of this page will be updated when a revised policy is published.
